Kathleen didn't mean to do this. Working as a counselor for a regional community services board after college, she found a home and lifelong friends in Charlottesville. But the road beckoned. Armed with a backpack and a hostel guide, she found herself in Australia and New Zealand, then back in the States for a grand tour of the American Southwest.
But the Blue Ridge was calling. She returned to Charlottesville and became a bench jeweler, eventually managing one of the top stores in town. After meeting Carter, she decided to strike out on her own, and the rest is history. Carter graduated from the University of Virginia with a major in English Literature and a minor in Women's Studies.
