Inaccurate, biased, overvalued appraisals particularly being used for insurance scheduling are not in your best interest.
If you have ever had to make an insurance claim for your car or personal property you understand how insurance companies work. Insurance companies have the option to compensate for a claim at the lowest potential cost to them. Why would an insurance company compensate you for a jewelry item appraised at $20k when you actually paid $10k for it? What this means is, that they can and will override over valued appraisal reports and simply compensate at a lower value or replace the jewelry item at the lowest cost to them.
Overvalued appraisals do nothing more than drive up your monthly premium to keep the item insured.

All appraisals include a printed hard copy and a computer document copy of your appraisal.
Most appraisals include plotting diagram of a major center diamond of 0.75 carats or larger.
Exceptional gemstones or jewelry items which are time extensive to evaluate and/or require additional research and/or costs will command HIGHER RATES than those which are stated above.
In such cases, proper notification will be given prior to the beginning of any appraisal work and the rate will be subject to agreement before any actual work is performed.
