Linda was very influenced by the silversmiths she met in the Southwest as a child. Jewelry Designers and other artisans had booths and little shops here and there and you could buy Native American masterpieces along the side of the road. In later years travels and life have brought other influences to Linda's work -- like those of North Africa and the Middle East.
She remembers a specific shop with a silversmith at a bench -- his hands were filthy as he manipulated the sheet silver and wire into stunning jewelry. It's this very vivid memory that brings us to present-day Linda Blackbourn Jewelry, minus the filth. Because we have enough, mass-produced everything in our lives. We're forgetting the original arts.
We need to stare down at that ring or put on those earrings and know that a craftsperson made it.
