ICD founder and owner Varda Singer comes from a family entrenched in the jewelry business. A recipient of the Jeweler of the Year honor from the New York State Jewelers Association, Varda hails from Israel, where her father was a prominent diamond merchant.
After serving as a lieutenant in the Israeli army, Varda came to America to attend Columbia University, where she attained a degree in psychology and education. She began her career as a jeweler importing and selling at the wholesale level. The connections she established with international suppliers helped her launch ICD in her hometown of Chappaqua.
