The New Homestead
When Dianne & Chuck Geier look at an old teaspoon, knife or fork, they envision a fine piece of jewelry or a unique gift idea for the home. From their New Lenox, Illinois studio, the "Spoon Lady" and her "Forkin' Husband" fashion antique silverplate flatware into earrings, rings, pendants, barrettes, bracelets, wind chimes and other interesting custom silverware creations.

New items are constantly added to the list as the imagination of the artists and the character of the silverware dictate. In this case, recycling is not only good for our planet, but reveals beautiful "Silver Wares" to be enjoyed in an entirely new form.
Services
The Art of repurposing antique silverware is both a pleasure and even an honor.
We find great excitement and challenge in reshaping the beauty of the past to bring new beauty to our present and even the future!
Why not - it's what the Universe does.!
We started this Journey over 20 years ago and have never looked back.
Through tough times (and even rougher weather) we've discovered an even greater appreciation for all things, all people and the Universe.
Love is the way to do it!
Be excellent to each other and above all - Have Fun!
Did you know the making of Spoon and Fork Jewelry got its real start during the Depression?
Boys didn't have jobs - and little money, so they would sneak pieces of their own Mother's silver to create a beautiful spoon ring or fork jewelry piece for that special girl.
Many of your Grandparents probably have a story like this!
All are customizable to meet your own definition of "Unique"!
Due to the changing availability of antique silverware pieces, please be aware that the pictures shown are just samples of our products.
There are over 3000 silverplated patterns manufactured over the years and we usually keep anywhere from 150 to 200 in raw stock at all times.
This is constantly changing, so it would be impossible to show all we might have available.
See our Pattern Styles page to get an idea of what you might like.
Otherwise, You can leave it to our artistic judgement.
We use Paypal as a checkout service provider, but you don't need an account - you may also use a major credit card.

Results will depend upon the condition of your silverware.
Consult with Chuck or Dianne prior to the work if you are in doubt.
Allow approximately 2-4 weeks for completion.
Below is a list of our items and the prices we charge to make them from your own silverware.
