Creating jewelry has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child playing with my grandmother's costume jewelry and studying the designs of the 40's, 50's and 60's - becoming familiar with the beads and stones I found the building blocks to use to fulfill my creative urges. In school I was the girl who made the beaded safety pins with school colors for sneakers and created polymer clay pendants for sale at rock concerts.

Combining my interests in the arts as I grew up, I attended art camp in Dover, MA, classes at the De Cordova Museum in Lincoln, MA and the Danforth Museum in Framingham, classes at the Art Institute of Boston culminating in a degree in graphic design. My interests in nature, painting, music and art history have influenced my subject matter as I worked in various fields - floral design, graphic designer, administrative assistant to a fashion consultant.

Assisting the fashion consultant in her business has given me first hand knowledge of the tastes of her clients who are career women - CEOs and TV anchors etc.
Services
The standard length for a necklace is 18 inches.
Most of my designs are strung on 18 unless described otherwise in the item description.
If in the past you've found necklaces tend to be too long for you, order 16 inch length.
If you've found the opposite to be true order 20-24 inch length.
To order a different length than in the item description email me at info@janinedesign.com.
Orders are shipped via USPS from Holliston, Ma usa within 5-7 business days of the order being placed.
International shipping rates vary by location.
A Janine's private shopping events can be the ultimate girl's time out - just book a 2-3 hour time slot for up to 15 shoppers and preferably 2 weeks (at least) in advance.
This way we can work with you to figure out what type of group you're inviting so we can cater a portion of that week's orders to your needs.
At a private shopping event, you will receive access to a custom assortment of merchandise, special discounted prices and complimentary drinks and treats.
Once you decide your time slot, we will work together on what type of experience you'd like based on your preferences and how many people are coming.
Using tiny seed beads and special focal beads for the front of the necklace makes this design a little more modern.
Tiny seed beads are relatively inexpensive so I purchase more expensive beads for the front and center of the necklace.
I am using a shape called rondelle, it's like a squashed ball.
Focal beads- an odd number (3-9) of beads ranging from 4mm-10mm rondelle or rough cut shape- all the same color.
11/0 size seed beads.
I like Toho beads, but you can use any.
If you want a smaller look you can also use 15/0 seed beads, but you have to check they will go through your wire.
