The Polacheck family first laid down its roots nine decades ago and has been passed on through many generations. Their story begins in 1921 when Ben Tipp opened a small diamond store in Seattle. Ben and his wife, Lillian, had three daughters, Mitzi, Pearl, and Helen. Pearl Tipp married Arthur Polacheck and together they relocated to Los Angeles with their two boys, Arthur Jr. and Stephen.
In 1949, Arthur Polacheck opened the first Polacheck's Jewelers location in Glendale. In 1963, Stephen took over the day to day operations, and together, they eventually expanded to 5 locations throughout Southern California. After more than 40 years dedicated to the jewelry business, Arthur decided it was time to spend more time with his family and sold all 5 locations to a public company.
But the story doesn't end there. Stephen, was ready to branch out on his own and with his extensive knowledge of fine jewelry and timepieces, and impeccable customer service, he opened his own Polacheck's Jewelers store in 1989 in Sherman Oaks.
