Gary Godsey started in the family business at the age of 14. When he turned 19, he moved to St. Thomas in the Virginia Islands starting on a 5-year apprenticeship under 2 Swiss-German master jewelers. During his apprenticeship, he was trained in all aspects of hand fabrication, lost wax casting, and jewelry repair. In 2002, Gary opened G & S Jewelers, which acted as his home base for the next 12 years.
The quality of his work was quickly noticed and he began getting subcontracted out by major jewelers in the area. Gary has remained at the helm of his store, a life-long dream of his, where he fosters a casual and relaxed atmosphere so that customers feel more like good friends.
