Stephan-Hill Jewelry Designers was founded by co-owners John and Marian Garfolo in December of 1980. They met while attending University of California at Davis where they were both pursuing degrees majoring in art and design with inspirational professors, such as, Wayne Thiebaud, Katherine Rossbach and Robert Arneson.
After completing a B.A. in Art there and doing graduate work in jewelry design and metalsmithing at California State University at Long Beach under Alvin Pine, Dieter Mullerstach and George van Duinwyk, John also received a Graduate of Diamonds Certificate from the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica.Marian completed her B.A. in Art from CSU at Long Beach and followed that with an M.A. in Textile Design from California State University at San Francisco.
The pair have since turned their considerable creative energies and award winning design expertise to producing exceptional jewelry for Stephan-Hill. They have continued traveling the world for inspiration and collect and sell the work of other nationally and internationally known jewelry designers.
