It was the early 70's in Gallup New Mexico; T&R Market was established as a locally owned and operated family business providing goods and services to surrounding communities. Colin Tanner, fourth generation in the Tanner trading families of the southwest, and his wife Coleen, would begin a new journey 6 miles north of Gallup on U.S. Hwy 666 (renamed to U.S. Hwy 491).
