The year was 1932 when John W. Arends, our founder, began his jewelry apprenticeship with Jabel Manufacturing, a large jewelry manufacturing company in Irvington, NJ.
Over the next 11 years, he mastered the art of jewelry design and manufacturing, including model making, casting, setting, and polishing.
Upon returning from WWII military service, John W. Arends made the decision to go into business for himself.
In 1946, Aires Jewelers was born, and began operating as a wholesale jewelry manufacturing company in Newark NJ.
